By virtue of DWST’s affiliation with the Pontificia Università Urbaniana (PUU) in Rome, the Rector Magnificus of the PUU is the Rector of DWST. TThe Baccalaureate in Theology (BTh) is an ecclesiastically-recognized degree granted by the Pontifical Urbaniana University (PUU) in Rome by virtue of DWST’s affiliation.

Ecclesiastical Course

The Ecclesiastical Course is a six-year certificate program. The first two years consist of the biennial philosophy which is taken previously from ecclesiastical faculties or approved institutions followed by three years in theology which constitute the academic formation then one-year pastoral or ministerial year.

AB MAJOR IN THEOLOGY AS SECOND DEGREE

The AB Major in Theology as Second Degree is a four-year degree program and a requirement for those who desire to pursue the Master’s Degree Program in Theology. The courses of the first two years are taken from the first two years of the student’s AB or BS Degree. The last two years of the program are taken at DWST.
Admission Requirements:
1. Any AB or BS degree
2. 18 units of Philosophy, if degree obtained is not AB Philosophy

Divine Word Seminary, Tagaytay City offers two government degree programs: Bachelor of Arts Major in Theology under government recognition no. 65 series of 1965 and Master of Arts in Theology under government recognition C-002 s. 1977.

This degree seeks to foster theological research and to develop research skills and advanced studies in the different theological disciplines, e.g., Sacred Scriptures, Systematic Theology, Moral Theology, Missiology, Church History, Spirituality.
