THE PROJECT PAPER

Description:

The project paper serves as a means for the student to demonstrate an ability to describe a concrete project he or she has undertaken in some area of apostolic experience. Such an experience may be drawn from the student’s regular weekend apostolate, a parish immersion experience or a pastoral exposure. The student needs to describe the project in detail, including the theological and pastoral foundations which undergird it. Because this is a CHED requirement for this degree, the format for writing the project paper must be strictly followed. The seminar on project paper assists the student to prepare an acceptable paper.

Requirements:

The writing of the project paper has two stages: the project paper proposal and the written paper of the completed actual project. A standardized format is provided for each of these requirements and must be followed. The student works with a moderator to develop a satisfactory project paper proposal. The proposal must then be approved by the moderator and the Director of the Program and a professor. Due to the need to submit requirements to CHED according to its deadlines, the timeline established by the Dean of Studies must be strictly observed.

Grading:

The grade for the project paper will be given by the same panel of examiners. The grade will be based on the student’s ability to articulate the various components outlined in the project paper format. The student needs to demonstrate an ability to conceive the project, explain its theological and pastoral foundations, organize the project, as well as implement and evaluate it. The student must present the project in narrative form with clarity and follow the prescribed format.
