Vision & Mission
The Divine Word School of Theology (DWST) is an institution of higher learning whose heart is mission. Inspired by the missionary vision of St. Arnold Janssen, the founder of the Society of the Divine Word, it considers theology as being at the service of the Church’s missionary calling.
To achieve this vision, DWST offers theological programs characterized by rigorous study of and creative reflection on the Word of God as experienced in different historical and contemporary contexts. It aims at a theological education which is faithful to the Church’s tradition and magisterium and oriented to its evangelizing mission. It promotes an academic atmosphere of critical thinking and encourages pastoral commitment and competence.
DWST seeks to send forth graduates who possess theological expertise, a global missionary outlook, adequate pastoral skills, and a relevant missionary spirituality.
